How It WorksThe Whirlpool Whispure 255 uses a two-stage filtration process. Air first passes through its carbon pre-filter that reduces VOCs, traps odors, and pre-cleans air before it reaches the HEPA filter. The air then passes through the true HEPA filter where 99.97% of airborne particles such as dust, pet dander, pollen, tobacco smoke, fabric fibers, and mold spores as small as 0.3 microns are captured.Who Needs ItThe Whirlpool Whispure 255 is excellent for those concerned with allergies, dust, or light household odors. This unit features two separate sensors, a dust particle sensor as well as the VOC-SENSE which detects volatile organic compounds, gases, and fumes. Auto Mode automatically adjusts to one of three fan speeds depending on information from the two sensors, and two separate filter lights let you know when the carbon filter and the HEPA filter need to be replaced. Other features include LCD electronic controls, sleep mode, eighteen hour countdown timer, remote control, and built-in handle for easily transporting the air purifier to various rooms of your house.
